With the launch of Fortnite Chapter 2, Epic’s skill-based matchmaking system is now in full swing, and it seems to be dividing the community instead of bringing it together. Popular Fortnite YouTuber Ali-A recently took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the new matchmaking system, saying, “Skill Based Matchmaking is the worst addition ever to Fortnite and it’s killing the game.” His full comments can be seen in the Tweets below.

Skill Based Matchmaking is the worst addition ever to Fortnite and it’s killing the game.

It’s a system that puts you with similarly skilled players in an effort to see you improve. Then when you do improve, you only go up against other players that are better.

It’s a never ending cycling of playing sweaty games of Fortnite and I’m not a fan 3,2119:16 AM – Nov 8, 2019Twitter Ads info and privacy415 people are talking about thisAli-A’s dislike for the matchmaking system seems to come from the fact that as you get better, free v buck generator you face better players. Thus, you never get the chance to play against lower leveled players. He goes on to say that this creates a “never ending cycling of playing sweaty games of Fortnite” of which he is “not a fan.”

However, while some have voiced support for Ali-A’s opinion, others disagree with him.

Reddit user ItzDaemon said, “SBMM [Skill-Based Matchmaking] has made this the best season yet for me, I am not a very good builder even if I have good aim. I was really tired of making it to the end game and then being killed by some sweat, but now with bots and this, I will even attack in endgame because I know they will be somewhere around my skill.”

Alongside the skill-based matchmaking update, Epic added bots to Fortnite, stating, “Bots will work in conjunction with the new matchmaking system, and as your skill improves, you’ll face fewer bots.” So if you’re a more advanced player, odds are you’re not facing bots. However, if you’re a newer or lower-level player, then there is a good chance that there are a few bots in your game.
